Wedding Trend: Citrus Splash

We hate to bring up the "W" word, but we have to. Winter is approaching and there's nothing we can do about it. No more beach days, no pretty skirts and shorts, no dresses...oh dear. On the plus side, we do get to say hello to gorgeous coats, warm boots, scarves and hot chocolate! But before we completely kiss summer goodbye, we had to share a gorgeous wedding theme with you all. A theme that is practically summer in a jar and reminds us of all the reasons why we love the heat. A citrus splash wedding is colourful, fun and oh-so-in-fashion! We love the yellow and orange hues in a citrus splash colour palette - and don't be scared to throw in a hint of neon. Could anything capture the essence of summer more than this?
Your flowers are a great way for brining this theme through to your wedding outfit. Citrus doesn't only have to be about orange and yellow - a pop of pink goes a long way in balancing the colours out. The trick to this theme is weaving neutrals like white through your colours to balance it all out. Decor becomes a budget-friendly breeze with this theme. Cut up lemons or oranges placed in jars, piled up citrus fruits in baskets and quartered lemons to hold escort cards are all really simple ways of working the theme into your decor.
Don't be shy when it comes to your stationery - this theme requires guts, a bright palette, and bold graphic shapes. We love seeing a motif used across a range of items throughout the wedding. Have a monogram done in bright citrus colours and be sure to use this as an accent to all your printed stationery in the wedding - escort cards, service lists, menu's, table number's - you name it!
Details, details, details. We'll say it over and over again - details make your wedding day spectacular.  We just love how this theme can be worked into so many different aspects of your wedding day. Dress your bridesmaids in one single bright hue, or play with a colour palette of oranges and yellows. Have a lime and lemon cocktail table set up for your guests after the ceremony. Add wooden accents if you would like a more rustic feel. And don't forget your cake! Dress up a simple white cake with various citrus fruits - sublime! (No pun intended!)
