It's here everyone - the LAST month of winter. Yippee! Start preparing your tan lines, start getting bikini ready (yikes) and start pulling out those daisy dukes and slops, cause Summer is on its way. Besides being the last month of bitter cold, August is a special month in South Africa because we get to celebrate Women's Day! So with that in mind, this month's calender is pretty, feminine and all things girly. And yes Audrey, we couldn't agree more with you, happy girls are indeed the prettiest! 31 July - 05 August - Start chaneling your inner vixen and head down to The Heritage Theatre for Burlesque! A show of dance, drinking and oh-so-much-fun! Tickets are R100, and you can find out all you need to know right here
03 August - 05 August -  Funny man Kagiso Lediga brings his comedy show "In a Suit" to Sun Coast Casino. Both shows start at 8pm and tickets range from R120 - R150 per person. Find all the information you need here.
04 August - The ever faithful I heart Market will rock Durban as usual on the first Saturday of the month at the Moses Mabhida stadium. Get there early to be first in line for all the good food! 
05 August - Close on the heels of the I heart Market is the Wonder Market, taking place as usual at the Chris Saunders Park in Umhlanga. Expect tasty food and great crafts. 
06 August - Ok he might have messed up our national anthem, but let's move on and really enjoy the musical talent Ard Matthews has to offer. He will be releasing his first solo album entitled First Offerings on the 30th of July. Catch him and his music live at The Barnyard Theatre in Gateway. The show starts at 08h30 pm and tickets are R120 per person. Find the details here. 
08 August - After many long years (Four, to be exact), South Africa's favourite rock export Seether are back for a concert at the Wavehouse in Gateway! The show starts at 6pm and promises to be a good one with the City Bowl Mizers and Taxi Violence as the supporting acts. Tickets are R265 per person. You can find out more here.
09 August - Spend Women's Day out in the beautiful Krantzkloof Nature Reserve for a day of guided walks and a picnic. Its costs R75 per person and includes a delicious picnic brunch. Find out more here
15 August - 17 August -  The Mercury Wine Week is the highlight of the KZN wine calendar, so if you enjoy wine, head to Suncoast Casino for the a huge selection of wines and tasty food. Entrance is R100. Get all the details here.
20 August - The much anticipated charity evening, the Night of 100 Stars is back and bigger than ever. Performances range from singing, dancing, classical music and stand-up comedy. Find out all you need to know here. Tickets are R400 per person or R4000 per table. 
22 August - 26 August - If you love Latin dancing, then Latin dance show, Burn the Floor is the show for you. Tickets range from R200 - R285 and get find the details here
