YAY! We can finally say that SPRING IS ON ITS WAY. Being summer bugs, we at Ruby cannot be happier. September means so many things; spring, longer days, summer dresses, being that much closer to our end-of-the-year trip and of course, 9 months that Ruby has been around!  So download your calendar here, and enjoy this happy month of Spring with us! 
31 Aug - 02 September: For all the Mom’s and Moms-to-be, the Mama Magic Baby Expo is the place to go for all parental information. Expect trade shows, expert speakers and international entertainment. The Expo is at the Durban International Convention Centre and starts at 9am every morning. Tickets are R65 and children under 10 are free.
29 Aug - 09 September: Durban says hello to the JOMBA! Contemporary dance experience this September. This festival will feature local and international dance performers including the JOMBA! City - an interactive, outdoor dance event. Tickets are R50 per person and R35 for pensioners and students. Click here for more detailed information.
01 September: We’re spoilt for choice with markets on spring day with I heart Market, Essenwood Craft Market and Litchi Orchard Market happening. Click on the links to find out more. New on the calendar is Button Up at The Factory Cafe. This market specialises in second-hand and new clothing as well as vintage goods. And the first people who arrive at the cafe with a buttoned shirt get a cuppachino on the house. There will also be coffee, live music and food. The Button Up market starts at 9am at the Columbo Coffee Factory.
01 September: Be sure to catch the Sharks play against the Cheetahs at the Kingspark Stadium for the Absa Currie Cup. The game starts at 5.05pm and tickets are available here.
07 September: Local act Zebra and Giraffe will be realeasing their latest album, “The Wisest One’s” at Live in Stamford Hill Road. The opening acts are Shadow Club and Tailor. Tickets are R80 and the show starts at 8pm. Get all the details here.
07 - 09 September: Get ready for the Eastern Bridal Fair and all its glory! The fair not only includes wedding exhibitors, but great food and live performances. The fair takes places at the Durban ICC. Check out the details here.
09 September: Love your city and have a fun day with the East Coast Radio Durban Day, happening at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. This family day concert is packed with a great lineup and is the perfect time to pack a pic-nic basket. Tickets are R100 per person. Find out all the details here.
15 September: Support the boys in black and white as they take on the DHL Western Province team at the Mr Price Kings Park stadium. Kick off is at 07.10pm. Get your tickets here.
21 - 24 September: The White Mountain Music Festival takes place near Giant’s Castle in Central Drakensberg and offers accoustic performances by some of the country’s top artists. There are also various accommodation options, arts and crafts, a beer market and food stalls. Tickets are R450 per person for the entire duration of the festival.Visit their site here for more information.
28 September: The Sharks are back and this time face arch-rivals the Blue Bulls. The game kicks off at 07:10pm at the Mr Price Kings Park Stadium. Get your tickets here.
29 September: The Food Market at the Hellenic Community Centre is the perfect spot to top up on your speciality cheeses, cured meats, home-made sauces and delicious marnited olives. The market is from 8am to 1pm. Find out all you need to know here.
29 September - 30 September: Love Beer? Then the Pecanwood Oktoberfest is just for you. With over 20 types of beer, German cuisine, Oktoberfest calender girls, free camping, games, rides, Oompah bands and some of South Africa's hottest bands and DJs it promises to be fun.
