We had such fun creating these unique and playful invitations for Shanna and Jake. Firstly, they were such a lovely couple to work with; full of energy and great ideas, and secondly; they were so open to trying out something different and playing with a variety of printing techniques and effects. These were the first letter pressed invitations that we have done and we were absolutely thrilled with the results. Letterpress refers to one of the oldest techniques of printing where images are pressed into paper using a variety of inks. This creates a beautiful 'raised' effect on the invite, lending a wonderful artisinal and unique feel to them. We wrapped the gorgeous 3-carded invitations into a bellyband consisting of lace and hessian and finished it off with a luggage tag attached with hessian twine. Jake's mother hand-painted over 50 tags with unique watercoloured Protea images (not pictured) to finish off these one-of-a-kind invites.
