Oh goodness do we LOVE this trend! Pretty powder pastels are making the rise for this Spring and Summer, and we can't wait. The fashion world has filled up with a palette of light summer pastels, and it is oh-so-pretty and sugary-sweet. Visit any clothes, shoes or accessories store and you'll find it filled to the brim with the pastel trend, with colours such as mint, baby pink, icy blue, pale yellow and light lavender. What we love about pastels is that they are pretty and appropriate for the season... there's nothing quite like a powder pastel-coloured dress on a sunny Spring day!
What we do know is that pastels aren't flattering for everyone though, as pastels are very dependent on your skin and hair colour. But don't fear, there is nothing that accessories can't do to make you feel on trend with this candy-coloured look; add a pastel handbag or jewellery to your outfit and you're ready to go! Creamy pastel nails are also an easy way to make a bold statement.
With Spring just around the corner, now is the perfect time to start adding pastels to your wardrobe - the softness and femininity of this trend will be worth it. Browse through our mood boards below where we have concentrated on our two favourite pastels: icy mint and blush pink. Just gorgeous!
It wouldn't be a trend board on Ruby & the Swallow without showing you how to get this look yourself - locally and (relatively) cheaply. Below we found our favourite items online that will put you into a candy-coated coma with all the pastel prettiness. This is a gorgeous Spring outfit, perfect to dress up or down.
