Earlier this year, we told you about Pantone's Colour of the Year, Tangerine Tango. We loved its zesty, bright energy and all the tones it came in. Pantone has now just announced their 2013 Spring Colour Palette and we are in love. We adore the mix of soft pastels like Linen, Grayed Jade and Dusk Blue with the bold, bright mixes of Lemon Zest, Poppy Red and Tender Shoots.
It's this mix of dynamic brights and soft neutrals that create a harminous balance - a balance we all try to achieve in our daily lives. The expression of this balancing act in the Spring 2013 pallette is something we can all relate to as we try to find harmony in the frantic pace of our everyday lives, said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute. She further emphasises:
"This season’s color palette emphasizes this need for balance, while at the same time allowing for individuality, self-expression and excitement.”
We are loving the different shades of green in this palette, that echo our natural surroundings. Tender Shoots, Grayed Jade and Emerald form the perfect backdrop to all the other colours and pick them up really nicely. The Spring 2013 forecast, like all other Pantone forecasts, are brought together by a team of fashion designers, stylists, fashion consultants and make-up artsists. It is made up through their own personal tastes and what they have seen echoed on the runways and magazine shoots.
We are really looking forward to seeing this pallette echoed in our wardrobes this Spring/Summer. Look out for these colours and incorporate them into your wardobe with key piecies like blazers, bright shorts and sun dresses. A pop of Lemon Zest would also look great on a clutch bag and who wouldn't want a pair of killer heels in Monaco Blue? For the full report, check out the Pantone website here.
